Not sure I can track the thinking that says he’ll never be elite but would command a king’s ransom.
I’m also very hesitant to put much weight in the whole wanting out thing. Certainly not to any crazy levels like a certain blokes.

I remember the good old days when Blitz argued that Merrett should be made captain because he was our best player and was tenacious and led the team by his actions on field.
Worrying about how a bloke speaks to outsiders is how you end up with a captain like McGrath.
Neither Roberts or Clarke would be ready for it.
It’s how you end up with a Trengove/Grimes situation.

Simply has to be the captain next year.
He is the embodiment of what we want from our players and McGrath is the embodiment of what’s wrong with this club in terms of nice guy on field attitude and lack of ruthlessness.

Thought he had a poor game today. Beaten by the midfield opposition, while his disposal was below par. I am surprised people have Durham in the best three players.
to be fair the bar is extremely low at this point.
dont like that he seems to overcome an ankle tweak every week. would like him to just run out a game without some sketchy as ■■■■ tackle on him
