The official I have no idea what to make of him poll. After 4 season what do we think of Harry Jones?

  • He is just an average footballer.
  • He is a medium size player stuck in a tall players body, needs to play wing or HF to be a good footballer.
  • He is talented but Injuries have cruelled him, he could have been a good KPF
  • He is talented, talls take time, he will be a good KPF footballer
  • He will explode in 2025

Needed a below average option to select.

Addressing those fadeouts is task #1 for him. Absolutely necessary to remove it from his game.

After two seasons in the wilderness he at least got back on the park, and back close to that first season promise.

He needs to make up for lost time next season.

Iā€™m bullish on Jones, like the idea of him, Langers and Caddy as our forward Talls, throw some good small forwards in with them at it will be a good mix.
Playing him on the wing was ludicrous.

I actually didnā€™t mind him pushing up the ground. I thought it was a much better position for him.

I actually disagree, I think playing forward in this day and age requires the ability to be really strong in the contest and not easily pushed off the footy. Given Jones had never played wing before even in juniors I felt he offered a fair bit. The wing role doesnā€™t require to much true contested marking. Even when you do take a contested mark in that position you typically get the ability to run and jump at the footy which jones excels at. He is very easily pushed off the line of the footy. Caddy is already ahead of him in this regard in his first year so thatā€™s not going to change.

Ultimately, in my opinion our forward line lacks that true strong key forward that can be relied on to bring the ball to ground. I wish wright was that forward and hopefully he can get that back into his game. But until then Draper needs to play a role thatā€™s more forward then ruck as he is the only one that I think can reliably bring the ball to ground

Guelfi is too much of a ball watcher - he will get exposed defensively. Same way Perkins does in defence.

but if they leave, what will they have to complain about ?

Ironically thatā€™s the equal personification of this joint, certain people just like to complain about how others post because why not.

The off seasons on here are a wasteland and barely worth the time to come here. If youā€™re getting morally outraged by anything people say in the off season, this prolly isnā€™t the place for you til the season starts.

Well he isnā€™t an experienced defender. It would take a bit for him to take to backline work

He needs to permanently paint his nails

McGrath in defence is a massive liability. Turns the ball over and runs off his man in doing so and then gets exposed out of position all the time. Not a good defender

I distinctly remember is first season. He cut each small forward he was put on to pieces. Heā€™s more than capable of doing that again.
