Good news for the VFL. He was playing forward before he got injured.

Put him at full forward or centre half forward and ask him to kick goals. He doesn’t even get a look at the firsts until he comfortably kicks goals from 30m out. So far he has the uncanny ability to miss the easy shots.

I doubt he will make it, prove me wrong. No other team would look at him, maybe Tasmania as a last chance option on minimum pay.

I’d try him in defence as a tall defender. We need the coverage and have plenty of tall forwards.

I’d try him down back Weideman style, more so cos I don’t think Jones is much good as a forward or wing.

Set to play VFL this weekend, here’s hoping is shows something, FWIW I still think he has something to offer, cannot be much worse than the last couple of weeks and would have him ahead of a few when fully fit. Expect Scott to bring him in over the next month.

Jones has a better athletic profile but has none of the natural football ability that Edwards has. Edwards is our most natural forward on the list.

I disagree with this. Even when Jones hasn’t been getting enough of it, you could never really criticise his work ethic. Put a lot more pressure on than most of our other tall forwards. Chased a lot harder.

Physically he still looks poor

And squibs contests when he is on the field

His biggest attribute is he has very good endurance

I would. Not sure there is a spot for him in the forward line, and plenty of forwards have reinvented themselves as a defender.
