Which is pretty much par for the course for Harrison. Seems to be quiet early on and then his supreme fitness allows him to really take the game by the scruff of the neck by the latter stages of the 3rd quarter.
It would be great to see him start to have impacts earlier in games- I think that will take confidence and time, however.

I have come to terms with it, you all should too.
I often wonder why players returning from a lengthy layoff don’t play a game or two in the Ressies. If Jones played a game of VFL last week and had 15 touches, including five goals, would this not be better than struggling to break into a game at a higher level?
Of course, playing VFL is no guarantee of standing out, but if you are a gun the odds should be in your favour, should they not?

I’d prefer him playing ones at this point, personally, even if it’s only a practise match. Quite aside from the difference in standard, part of shaking the cobwebs out and getting yourself ready for the real stuff is to re-establish chemistry with your teammates. He and Wright need to get their running patterns in sync, he needs to rebuild understanding with the senior-level midfielders who are going to be kicking to him in the real stuff, etc etc. He’s not going to get any of that in the VFL, even if he does dine out and kick a bag on some newbie VFL defender who was playing suburban footy last week.

Agree. This is what practice matches are for! He had a good half against the Dogs and would have had a couple of goals if not for rusty goalkicking.
40 goals this season for Harry Jones would be a beautiful thing
25-30 snags and. I’d be very happy.

yep. I thought this was Jones’ weak bit against St Kilda. His timing was off and not running to the right place in packs.
