#23 Harrison Jones

It isn’t hindsight for me - I wanted Riccardi with our pick 35, which we traded, together with our 2020 P2, to get down to 30 to make sure of getting Jones. I didn’t know Jones from a bar of soap, so had no idea at the time if he was a good pick… but I had seen Riccardi playing for Werribee that year, and he was a steal at pick 51 for GWS.

I’ll show you what I want Jones to be doing for the remainder of this year at training.

I think he is a natural high half forward or wingman but needs to develop his tank some more and maybe start kicking goals

We seem to have a dearth of wingers now, but lack forward options so he isn’t going to be played on the wing

Jones will kick 5 at Marvel on Saturday. It will be the making of him.

Had a pretty good start to his career, then he got injured and seems lost.
Maybe just plonk him in the goal square and keep in in the forward 50.

Not the best tactic for him. Playing Jones from the square will see him being monstered every time the ball goes down there by defensive gorillas. His best chance is to lead fast, hard and often.

considering you have to go back 8 games for him to have kicked 5 goals across all those matches, and his highest goal tally in his career so far is 3, that is one exponental turn around, esp coming off a 4 possie game.

my main question would be, what drug is he on if he does that ? or what drug are you on to even suggest it ?

Id rather see @alex.f.94 into the squad than Jones. Absolute spud.

Loool posted this few years back and same ■■■■, different year. Essendon Bombers

I’m not sure 5’9 half forwards are very popular at the moment.

Jones plays like a 5 ‘10 half forward because before his growth spurt he was that height and from playing on ball and half forward to key position and ruck work is a lot of development that is required, an area at our club which we have lacked since he arrived.

Won’t make it…next

Jones is an interesting one, has the ability and the attributes to be the type of player that he aspires to be, but can he adapt his to make it work in this current team structure and plan?

Tough conundrums for Jones this season
