I’ve put a line through Jones. He needs a stint in the VFL and dominate before being considered for the seniors.
Announce Jones!
If Jones gets picked, I’ll be depressed. If he plays and kicks 3+ goals, I’ll be overjoyed. How fickle can we get?
And then go missing the following week against Port
I’d take that.
I just don’t understand this forum.
We spend the whole preseason excited about the prospect of an injury free Jones! Two years it’s taken but finally, the lad can get on a footy field. Will be a bit rusty but worth persevering with.
Then we write him off after 1 effing game
Showed nothing last year, showed nothing during the preseason games, showed nothing in round 1. People lose patience.
If he does nothing again and caddy kicks three in the vfl then fans will be baying for blood
My problem with him is I feel he probably needs to be the third banana tall, playing behind two strong bodied quality tall forwards, to be effective. But we don’t have that luxury. That role is Langfords.
We need him to play to his height and actually play like a proper tall forward who can hold his own in marking contests and not be shifted aside so easily. But he’s in his 5th year at the club, in the last year of a contract and still looks years off putting on the size necessary to even give him a chance to play that role to a high standard.
He needs to play like a man, not a boy. Stop falling over and losing his feet in contest. Stop getting pushed under the ball. Accept body contact. Lead and DEMAND the footy. His effort against Hawthorn was pitiful so his likely inclusion doesn’t fill me with any confidence. Literally Brad Scott needs to grab him by the scruff of the neck, pin him up against the lockers and tell him to harden up.
Leppa, Zac O’Brien style!!
I would’ve thought now was the perfect time to give him potentially four games to prove himself. If we’re not going to do that then why the hell play him in round 1?
I get that plenty of people here think he’s just not good enough at AFL level - and perhaps they’re right - but surely we have to give him the best chance possible to prove himself? Either that or let him go.
Agree, and the place to do that is in the VFL where he can build confidence, kick goals, and hopefully force his way back into the AFL.
Not good for him if he doesn’t get picked when Wright is out.
Days are numberd doesnt fit the essendon edge
Off load him to the dogs as part of the Bailey Smith trade
The same Bailey Smith that is going to The Cats, or another one?
Hes finished at Essendon.
Great recruiting
If we cannot rely on him when 2MP goes out, then why the ■■■■ was he picked round 1???
Classic Disco line.
