#24 Craig Bird - Delisted

He’s plucky and has a dip. Don’t mind him at all.

Interesting that he’s playing as a 100% inside midfielder at Essendon while at Sydney he player around 60 to 70% inside midfield.

I take it you meant Essendon instead of Swans. Given our inside midfield options, we can't afford the luxury of playing him as a defensive HFF so it's not really surprising.

Yes - Bird also tagged at Sydney - Will be interesting to see his role in 2017 if he makes best 22.

Struggles to kick the ball over 40m but has a real crack and is decent at stoppages.

What was the contract we gave him? He’ll be better with better players around him. Not surprising that he’s taken a while to get into gear, given he’s been working with the COLA factory team for so long. Good signs last night.

He was better last night but has been rubbish for much of the year.

Absolute twaddle. His first game wasn’t great (and that can be put down to his late start to the pre-season) but since round 4 he has been pretty good. Gets to the bottom of packs, gets plenty of ball and tackles well and often. He has been good.

Not sure how anyone has seen him as anything more than a battler this year. Last night was easily his best game and hopefully he can produce more like it.

In case you didnt realise it, the whole team has been a battler this year . Want proof? Just look at the ladder.

Shut up mate, we’re fine.

I like him

The coaches are on track hopefully to find a 4th or 5th rotation mid with Bird.

No he hasn’t.

That’s a strong argument.

It’s an accurate one

Bird doesn’t get a lot of love on here, but good on him on 150.

And not good on the daft journo who reckons he played just one game in the red and black this year.

Where does it say that?

I read that and laughed. Article made no sense from that time on.

However they have amended it now to say he played his first game in round 1.

Good effort to reach 150 games.

he will be part of the b team midfield rotation in 2017…you need at least 10 that can keep the intensity effort going…

id take him over cooney gwilt anyday!

Why the comparison with Gwilt ?

Totally different roles.

well I see him fitting into the team structure next year unlike the other 2

Bird plays tough footy!
Much respect for that!!

Has been a great pick up. One the most important cogs in the midfield this year.

Really starting to dig this Bird.

Just a slight upgrade on Howlett and a bit younger.

Very tough, disciplined, and an extractor.

WIll be best 22 next yr.
