yeah I take your point , he’s only average but he’s nowhere near as bad as the collective blitz goon squad made him out to be. I think he is worth keeping on the list for now at least
That’s pretty much a given. Things usually aren’t as bad as it’s made out to be on Blitz. It also isn’t as good as it’s made out to be on Blitz.
In my mind, both he and Redman aren’t a good duo in the backline mix. Not when we play teams with 3 tall forwards and not when we play teams with 3 small forwards. One of the small forwards is usually a ‘high half forward’ which is where Archie is excelling this year. And why he can bridge between half back and wing relatively easily.
I think the club will bring him back next year. I can be swayed towards that argument even though I don’t rate him highly. He’s still better than the other options we have at the moment. I’m just hoping some of those options actually develop well enough to pass him by sometime next year. It doesn’t always happen that way though.
His last month has been very good and so far tonight, he’s having his best game. Excellent first quarter.
Great first quarter, BOG I think. Looks like he’s playing a little further up the ground but could be wrong
If he was playing for a half decent team, he’d be concrete
He’s having an absolute crack tonight, good on him.
A couple of lovely left foot bullets. His kicking is generally very good. A huge upgrade on Hepp and Kelly from 2024.
He’s really turned his season around. Kudos to him, he just looks like a much more confident player. His kicking is very handy, he has a bit of poise too.
This guy can play….
he ain’t gonna be a world beater, but with better stock around him he can be that tough back flanker in a good side.
Good on him, was copping plenty of stick early in year.
His good has outweighed his bad far more of late, but he still has some head scratching moments. He surely gets another season.
First game I’ve watched in about 6 weeks. He played very well. Only struggled when put on a guy 15cm taller after Lav went off injured.
Reckon he’s copped a lot of unwarranted stick all year. He’s pretty bloody solid to be honest.
^^ But, does he take us where we want to go?
No /
So, it is an awful case of ‘use and be used’,
Timelines here.
Yep. So many still can’t look past those first few games of the season.
Putting together a really solid season. Would be a pretty easy contract renewal as far as I’m concerned.
Simple fact: is Prior gets and deserves a one by one till we see where we are heading.
can’t have too many left footers in the best 22
Upgradeable but he is more than serviceable and has shown that he can play a role in the AFL.
He’s improved steadily since he came down from Lions. Shaky start but played every game, helped cover for our tall timber KPD injuries and earns his crust. Good DE and represents good depth at worst.
I’d lock him in for 2 years whilst the new guys develop and the talls return and see where he ends up.
Can kick.
Still sus in the contest.
He was solid all night. Defended well even when seemingly out of position or out numbered. His disposal has improved as he has learnt more about where to direct play. In the first half he and Redman held the defence together.
