I’m happy he got a week off and we got away with it. Has been playing sore for about 6 weeks now so happy he can freshen up.
Any word on the severity? I take it that it was minor given he was a late out and travelled etc (yes I know he’s from wa)
Gets a month between games basically. Hopefully hes cherry ripe for fiinals. A fully fit Hooker would be a massive bonus.
Same with Raz. If he can get right or closer to being right then we go up a notch in goal scorung power. I suspect his injury cant be fixed by rest though or we would have done it.
I agree. Zerk obviously played a different style of game, but he was much more use than Hooker has been for a fair while.
Could have played - under duress again - given a rest.
Will play next week (half) then another rest. All good for a finals tilt.

I’d be staggered if they played Hooksey next week mate.
A good 4 week patch of rest between games will do his broken body the world of good.

Realistically, GWS aren’t losing to Gold Coast in Rd.23, even if the Bulldogs rinse them tomorrow, which they could.
We could get a home final by dropping back to 8th
Give him another weeks rest that his body has been calling out for a month.

Yeah I’d be resting him this week too.
The rest will get him fired up for a big first week finals.
I wonder if Cale will consult Dr Blitz Riviera before he declares he is right to go v pies this week?

I’m worried the injured version is actually just the “nearly 31 years old” version and it’s not anything like the 30 year old or less version which we’ll never see again

We balance better with just the one slower defender.
And Hurley gives us much more as a package, IMO.
There are sides and games where I think Hooker is a must. This wasn’t one.
Pies (without Cox) isn’t either.
Hooker straight back in when fit, no matter the oppisition. Insanity to suggest otherwise.

Seriously, I reckon even though he’s injured, and has been for a while, he’s rapidly approaching the cliff. To me, he looks every part of Someone who’s 31.
think zerk will play a fair bit next year down back. Whatever pace cale did have has now gone and well, his agility has been almost zero for a while. I personally think the only way he’s going to
be valuable to the best 22 going forward (next year) is as a permanent forward. Even then, I like the Joe/smack / stringer kind of setup
I fear he may end up like stants/myers/bags by mid year playing in the VFL. I hope not, hope I’m completely wrong and he has a great year! But I’m not sure I see it, but I see BZT being of value down back next year

Yeah.
IMO there were a few signs at the start of the year. He’s been carrying something for a few weeks/months now, which has given us a glimpse into the near future, and it’s not good.
amazed this thread has had almost no action, whilst Hurley has been absolutely smashed on here. Hurley’s had a much better year.
