Getting something stolen from you is part of the European experience. I filled my pockets with faeces when in Italy.

If we lost Redman, i’d say Burton is a decent replacement, and possibly get-able.
Ty Zantuck was today arrested, shirt ripped and burly, whilst racially identifying a group of thieves in Rome.
Zantuck was taken to the back of the station where he appeared confused and out of place.
He was released shortly after.

Yep pick pocketing is pretty bad in Rome also there are beggers asking for money

Pockets are generally on the outside of the body
Unless you are trying to hide something
Pickpockets gangs ride the buses all the time in China, and they are very well organized. Often they involve a mother holding a baby in her arms. Who would ever suspect a mother and baby? The wallet is lifted and transferred to another and then another, then they get off the bus, usually before the victim even realizes they have been robbed. A couple of time in China, my wallet slipped out of my back pocket at the bus stop without my knowledge. As the bus pulled out of the stop some kind soul yelled out and stopped the bus, and l got my wallet back. I also left my wallet on a bus in Thailand. Luckily l realized what had happened quickly and was able to chase down the bus on foot.
In Djakarta the pickpockets are not as subtle. In crowded buses, they rob people at knifepoint, quietly. Or at least they used to.
They probably grew up to be street trash. So you won in the end.
well a good reason , Mason Redman, to buy a card wallet, where your cards can be stored in a secure wallet in your front pocket.

I’ve been pickpocketed once…in Barcelona airport after using a 50 Euro note to buy a coffee. I just wanted the smaller notes, but they didn’t make it out of the area while waiting for the bus.
We go there regularly and will be in Jakarta next week. Never had an issue and find it very safe.
