#27 Mason Redman - till end 2028

Tonight was a typical Redman game. The good was good the bad was bad.

That handball where he turned it over when under minimal pressure was abysmal and resulted in a Sydney goal.

As someone has said before, I think his skills are good. It’s his decision making that’s the problem.

He turns it over drinking game

Numerous sloppy handballs today

Boy this man has an enormous bar to get over to win any praise from Blitz these days. Thought he was very serviceable today and did his job. Lobbing a goal over Rampe’s head a clear standout.

Nah he"s ■■■■ trade him to Adelaide for a bag of chips

Has he played as a 3rd tall defender before?

Would be a nice way to get Johnson his debut

Agree…also, he’s in the Champion Data top 10 ball users. Not that I love the bean counter approach to footy, but there it is

It also rates Archie Roberts as the 9th worst kick in the comp and Nick Daicos as the 10th worst kick in the comp.

Sarcasm from Nino. :slightly_smiling_face:

Keep fighting the good fight against these buffoons who just want to keep losing, get a good pick, grizzle about how crap the replacement is, then rinse and repeat.

I was at the game, and I watched a replay on Monday. Redman did plenty of good stuff, 32 touches, a goal, and a terrific defensive effort on the goal line at a crucial stage in the last quarter.

He had a couple of poor moments with ball in hand, but those expecting perfection should start wishing for something else.

I’m pretty sure Rampe could have stopped red dogs and merrets goals if he took another step and tried a little bit harder.

Yep even the best players in the comp make errors impossible to have a player play the perfect game with out any errors

Has ability. But he is just a very strange footballer to watch.

His care factor and intensity just seems to randomly get turned on and off like a tap within games, within quarters and within pieces of play.

Sometimes looks aggressive, assertive and strong in the contest, sometimes looks a bit limp and meek.

His disposal also seems to fluctuate between looking outstanding to looking poor and lacking in care.

Getting beaten comprehensively in a foot race by Grundy, well that should be enough to see you dropped

And Nick Daicos in the top 10 worst.
It’s the definition and interpretation of the stats that matter.

Do we want Mason taking a handball from a stationary player around 50-75 meters out from goal to take a running shot? :100:
Do I want him disposing the ball when there’s extreme heat on him & his team mates in our D75? Probably not.
