It reminds me a bit of Courtenay Dempsey. When Bomba was coaching and (totally fairly) insisted that he actually focus on defending first, it didn’t improve his defending much and choked the attacking side out of his game.
Redman seems like he does his best work playing more of a “head empty, no thoughts” kind of style, really falls off when he has to think about how he’s defending. I don’t think trying to get him to do both is wrong, he needs to be able to, I just think he struggles with it.
Hes been tougher in the contest tonight. But he just has no impact with the ball, or turns it over too much. Just not good enough for a supposed leader at the club.
