It reminds me a bit of Courtenay Dempsey. When Bomba was coaching and (totally fairly) insisted that he actually focus on defending first, it didn’t improve his defending much and choked the attacking side out of his game.
Redman seems like he does his best work playing more of a “head empty, no thoughts” kind of style, really falls off when he has to think about how he’s defending. I don’t think trying to get him to do both is wrong, he needs to be able to, I just think he struggles with it.
That was a bad error, but overall he was good imo.
I am certain he spent most of the time on Toby Greene who had little influence on the contest.
Just another guy that signs a big contract then goes to ■■■■, it’s so demotivating for a lot of players getting a long deal.
Redman was never that good. He got a lot of people sucked in with his playing or looking angry. He has a nice kick, that’s it.

His decline is cso severe that it’s impressive. Bog average plodder. I loved that year he was tough, reliable, good to watch.
