#27 - Mason Redman - till end 2028

I think Johnson should come in before Redman unless Redman’s form demands selection.

The debate shouldn’t be Redman or Johnson.

It’s Redman or Prior, and Redman still provides far more even though he’s prone to poor games now and then.

Why Brad considers Prior a lock Best 23 player is yet another mystery.

He does more for the team by not being in it

When was the last time he actually ran and carried? All we’ve seen for a fair while is panicked bombs to no one or slow play kicks sideways and backwards

Redman is a better player than Johnson.

When it comes to team selection, I would always favour a player with an unknown ceiling that is currently playing like a 3/10 over a finished product that has peaked at 4.

Redman is a 4. He’s one of many that needs to go.

Maybe right at this moment. But we should be looking to who will be the better player in 2-3 years

Redman is 28. He’s not a cripple.

Yeah he’s not a cripple. But we have seen redman at his best- which is very good.

The only issue is, we only see it once every 5-6 weeks

I would rather get experience into a guy like johnson( who has already shown great signs) than persist with a guy like Redman who fluctuates massively between very good or awful.

Redman isn’t going to get better at this stage. He is who he is. Prioritise Johnson and back him in for the long term

Redman isn’t a cripple, but is a plodder and has shown he’s no leader.

Move on, next generation’s time to take the reigns

There’s no way we’re not playing Redman if fit @efc1robbo

He’s not AA level and never will be and can be inconsistent, but he’s a decent to sometimes good AFL player.

We don’t have enough talent in the side and he has damaging attributes.

I’d like to play Johnson soon and think there could be a player there.

It should be at the expense of someone else though (probably Prior).

Prior has a lot of faults

But you can never doubt his effort

I would have him over redman every single day on that fact alone

Apart from redman’s kicking ( which is very hit and miss)and a little bit of speed, I’m not sure Redman is bringing much else to the table

Disagree entirely.

He’s very weak overhead for his size.

Is constantly out marked by his man, and has very little c**t in his game.

I’m playing Redman over Prior every week.

Redman in the backline

Langford back to the wing

Edwards returned to the forward line

yeh straight in when match fit…he won’t be match fit this week.
Ridley needed 2 games in VFL before he was back.
Redman will need 1 or 2 games in the VFL.

Its not like he is going to be the difference in winning or losing - Redman to play a half in the VFL this week and likely a full game next week, then In.

I would prefer

Redman stays in the VFL, Johnson plays back

Langford goes to VFL, Edwards goes forward

it’s blitz, everyone’s negative nancy

i think he should slot straight back in when fit

Whose spot should he take?

Missed first half of VFL. Did he only play first half?
