#28 Ned “Cahl” Cahill - Fark Carlton lover

Hibbered to play Heppell role.

God damn. watching this scratch match video, i can see the appeal. he just looks a cut above. moves very well. looks really self assured with the ball in hand.

Yeah, no doubt.

It was 12 a side though, which probably explains the space that forwards were able to operate in. But, his draft stats had him rated in the elite category for mid-forwards, so that’s a great sign and hopefully proves to be a great pick from us late on in the draft. He looks like he’s got an AFL ready physique, pretty powerful unit.

The ground was shortened to sort of compensate in terms of space but may not have mattered much

Excellent use of the body and timing in that clip from Ned.

And if you watch the full “highlights” he has a nice fend-off on a much bigger opponent too.

Would drop Snelling for Ned

Is he actually quick? His size and poise makes it hard to tell if he is actually got some go in him.

Cahill’s paddock. Easy pickings. No prressure That’s absolutely nothing like what an AFL game is like.
But I agree he looks good.

He’s quick. Not lightning fast, but quick. But the best thing is that he is a natural small forward. Think Milne, Betts, those kind of guys. Knows where to be, has some tricks, plays under packs well, but can run onto the loose ball equally as effectively, knows where the goals are etc. Very good little package. Really hope he comes on.

He isn’t lightening quick but certainly quick enough, his reaction time makes him look quicker aswell as he reacts quicker than most.

Looked amazing in the first few minutes out at Colac. Then he disappeared.

Don’t worry, we’ll coach that out of him

Looks like they are not trying to get into the senior side with that kind of performance.

Maybe the coaches have confused Cahill with Parish? Do all short blondes look the same?

Needs to be played as a back pocket for two years, then on the wing for three and tried as a tall forward before we cut him from the list…and recruit a new small forward.

Rinse and repeat.
