Looking at the highlight vid of him, I like how he doesn’t try to kick the ball into row z when having a shot on goal. Touchwood and fingers crossed we don’t essington his action
Even Terry Cahill had trouble remembering Terry Cahill for a while.
Terry Cahill (born 30 April 1958) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL).[1]
Cahill was knocked unconscious in a clash with St Kilda’s Carl Ditterich in 1978. He never played in the VFL again,
Not a bad player - too gutsy for his own good.
Our last Ned played in 1928 or something
Unbelievable Sy Kilda #### thuggerySidebottom, Dietrich F#### carnts
May the Saints remain the ostracised , ignord hopeless football ciub in the vfl/afl that they deserve
It was the most appalling match I’ve ever had the misfortune to have attended.
Back then at Moorabin , the animal enclosure , showed they were the nastiest , thuggish , ### arnts around. F### those animals I was there
A great fella.
Was the principal at my son’s primary school and loved having a kick with the kids.
Unfortunately he was a Cats supporter.
Still a great bloke.
I think he played 6 games for 6 Brownlow votes - 3 2’s.
He wore #20 in 77-78, and #14 in 80-81.

FFS! That is a criminal re-writing of history! Big Bad “Currency Carl” knocked out Terry Cahill in a dog act and nearly killed him. It was no farking “clash”.
He and other StK players were instructed to go the punch by their “Swamp Fox” coach.
Another couple of Baby Bombers also ended up in hospital that day as well. Merv Neagle was one, iirc
Back in those days, supporters of all VFL teams knew what was going on, and to their credit everyone booed Ditterich, Sidebottom and the other thugs from that day for every game after in that season.
St K was flying high after winning that game, but it was a Pyrrhic victory* and they ended up with yet another failed season. Fark 'em.
(*Youngsters may need to look up what that means).
I know what a victory is. I see other teams get them all the time.
Wikipedia, which I quoted, is happy to accept your edits re Ditterich and St Kilda.
is anyone else surprised that we are 4 days post drafts, kids have come into the club, and we have not had an interview with these guys put on the site?
I am very surprised. One thing to note about the imminent recruiting of Townsend though - he has a very pronounced speech impediment and is usually reluctant to do interviews.
Im going to assume they will spread them out over the course of the week. Also the AGM is next thursday where all our new recruits are introduced and have a quick chat. There will be plenty of content to come

So?
Hardly a massive concern.
Ditterich was alleged to have said “hope he dies”.
I spent a day in the Animal Enclosure in the early 70s. Some truly feral people there. Not sure how they compared with the original Grog Squad under the scoreboard at the School End.
Oh for fark sake! Seriously.
hardly surprising, expect to see something next week like Harrison meets Joey…
not saying its a concern, im must surprised is all, seeing as they interview nearly every person that comes through the door for BTV
Probably why they are recruiting a new media guy.
