Great to see him back, and you have to appreciate the sheer workrate he brings to the team. He’s also a lot better in the air than I expected. Great goal as well when we needed some breathing space.
In our top 5 most important players imo
His workrate with and without the ball is amazing to watch in person
He does so much unrewarded running just to close guys down or give the kicked a option
I wish a lot of our mids had his willingness to run back and help out the backline

Absolutely vital to our set up and has to be the hardest working player on our list.
We missed him so bad we drafted Saad.
Whilst Cox didn’t get anywhere near the same footy, he and Duursma saved us on so many exits and entries from defensive 50.
Can’t believe port didn’t rate this guy and traded him away.

I heard from a someone who knows Xavier, that when Scott initially interviewed him he was told he would play where he was best suited - wing and midfield which was exactly what Xavier wanted. At Port, Hinkley was almost using him as a diversion away from centre so that the big stars, Rozee and Butters would get a clearer run from midfield. I don’t think there was much love lost between Xavier and Hinkley in the end so a trade probably suited both at the time. Great for us.

Such an important player for us, given wing is probably our weakest or second weakest area on the ground.
Hopefully his body can hold up moving forward, and the exciting thing is, like alot of our players he is still only 23 and should only get better over the next 2-3 years.
I for one am going to enjoy watching him own one side of the ground for the next 5+ years. Hopefully he convinces his brother to come over too.

Even just watching on tv you can see how much he must run. Running back to goal for the one Martin stuffed up, also all by himself when Caddy kicked his first goal. Would we interested to know his running numbers, must be next level.
Love him, he’d be my favourite player if Durries hadn’t stolen my heart.
