You told us he was soft not that long back

Kudos for coming back on after taking that hit. I thought he was done for the day and the next few weeks as well with concussion. Not only unexpectedly came back on, but then attacked a few tackles with great levels of vigour. Apart from trying to tackle Ziebel’s knee with his face, he showing some decent footy smarts.

Tackling with the potential to injure the head? Nope, have a few weeks off

Bump which could potentially injure the head?
That’s enough of that, have a few weeks off, son.

Flying knee direct to head?
Play on, it’s “part of the game”.

Nope, not saying the next line…

Reminds me of Sean Denham, the guy whose footedness was a mystery.

I reckon he was left-footed, but proficient on his right. When they’re 40 out straight in front and free, what foot do they kick with?

The most two-footed player I remember is TBM Bobby Skilton. If he was kicking for goal from a set shot, which side of the goal was he?

He looks like a footballer

He was a lefty - confirmed by the man himself

The main difference between Sean Denham and Jye Menzie is that Denham got huge numbers of possessions and Menzie doesn’t.

Generally happens when one of them plays a lot of midfield time and the other doesn’t.

You might need to expand what your definition of “footballer” is but he’s a hard at it little bridgewater ■■■■ and you will like it.

because he likes you.

Yeah I’m kidding a bit, was silky both sides. I really liked him. Tougher than he looked.

Incidentally John Barnes the other Geelong refugee (well, returnee in his case) also couldn’t make up his mind which foot to use. I think he might have favoured the left for injury reasons but the memory is murky. Always remember being amused when we first got Barnes and Wallis to the bombers (down to the spelling!). Though I’m glad we didn’t chase Mick Martin to make it a trifecta!
