Well, no, I wouldn’t want Ambrose in the centre bounce.
However, if his role is to shut out one player, then the half second behind applies equally to his work in the backline as it does in the centre. He seems to go ok with that, so I don’t see why he couldn’t do a similar thing in the centre bounce area.
I guess my argument is that I think he could, but I don’t know why we would.
I get what you’re saying, but the second you start changing your structure like that then you’re already playing the game on the oppositions terms and you’re on the back foot. Ambrose is great in defence, so leave him there and he can play on DeGoey when he’s forward. When he’s in the guts he’s up against Shiel, Hepp, Merrett and co. You have to back them in. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a defender follow Stringer to a centre bounce? (not off the top of my head)
