#3 - Darcy Parish - signed to 2029 (Part 3, from April 2025)

I reckon he cost us the game

It’s a sad feeling to have once been in Parish’s corner, arguing for him to get proper time in the midfield because he was wasted elsewhere (circa 2017-2020), especially because it was often under-performing 27+ year-olds who were taking development time away from him.

Now I’m making the same arguments for Tsatas while being frustrated with an under-performing Parish who looks surplus to our list needs. So many of his disposals went straight to the opposition, and his defensive work was non-existent. Feels like we missed out on Parish’s prime while also causing it to arrive late. Frustrating.

Same income

Iam as one eyed a supporter of Tsatas than anyone on this forum so I know this gets dismissed but Tsatas has better hands and vision and equal on kicking and clearance as shown in the vfl when they played together.
There’s a chance Tsatas can get better there’s zero chance parish gets better

Different super funds

Absolutely agree. Literally gave it to the opposition at points. That time in the last with the Goldstein tackle where he just dropped it to the feet of a Carlton player was on of the worst things I’ve seen this year

He kind of plays like he thinks he’s Hird, or Pendlebury. What I mean is that when those guys get the footy you KNOW they will use it well and be damaging and you don’t have to worry about where their direct opponent is. Unfortunately for Parish, and for us is that the ball comes back the other way at a rate of knots and he has no idea where his man is.

MMMMM RISH

get a better team around the bloke. He’s genuinely elite at what he’s elite at.

He’s elite at getting cushy contracts

I’m on the opposite side of the opinion spectrum. Thought he played well but was rusty. I would get rid of Hobbs to bring in Tsatas.

Does he panic and handball into the Carlton players after Goldy was tackled in the middle? He had the ball and then he just gave it to them, or did i see that wrong?

He is our Daicos.

You saw correctly. Led to the Williams goal 2 possessions later

Parish had an excellent first game back. His disposal efficiency was on par with other players for good teams in his position.

Yeah, he just handed them the ball, he wasnt trying to hit a teammate and it got smothered, he literally gave them the ball.

Yawn…

Possessions are the very least of his worries

11 clearances, decent return from darc, will be better for the run
