Was at country footy today rather than the VFL…

This would very much ■■■■ McVeigh off.

Maybe Darcy was watching his next club. I get the sense McVeigh wouldn’t hesitate to pay out someone or let them rot in the VFL.

I thought he was a Brad Scott boy?

Has a young family, probably getting paid $800k locked in for a few more years…he ain’t prioritising the weekend watching the 2’s

But got time to head out to the country and watch some bush side?

He’s not living the team ethos, he’s doing whatever he wants

There is not a club in the land who’s taking an injury prone 29 year old vfl player from the worst team in the game who’s contracted for 3 more years

Its one of the worst deals in AFL history.

Looks to me that Parish has well and truly checked out.

Just like for Merrett, I suspect the club has agreed to a trade for Parish - a win-win both Essendon and Parish.

I wonder who that club would be?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the Pies for a 2nd/3rd round pick, or a F2 pick, with us paying most of his salary. As a I recall, Parish grew up a Pies supporter. With Pendelbury going - he had the second most clearances for the Pies this year (after Nick Daicos who was #1) - they need clearance players /mids and McRae has always said he wants players, not picks. Neale and Parish bolster the Pies midfield stocks hugely.

I think it would be really strange to not offer Pendlebury a contract and then go out and trade in Parish. But what would I know.

Wait what?

Did you just compare Parish to Pendlebury?

How weird was that.

Parish and Bontempelli is the obvious comparison.

The obvious comparison between those two is that the both breath air and it ends about there. I was going to say they both wear football boots but even then that is almost untrue in Parish’s case.

Why would Collingwood get rid of Pendlebury who produces at a high level year after year hardly gets injured and choose to pick up Parish. That seems strange to me. The comparison would be they are both veterans midfielders

We can only hope.

Anybody think Collingwood would offer us a first for him?

No.

I reckon the best we could hope for is something like a 4th rounder and we pay a third of his salary.
