Former #30 B. Zerk-Thatcher

Has he got a body that will fill out? 195cm is a good size for a KPD.

Who is this Brandon?

From what Iā€™ve seen of him (mostly last year) his agilty and reactions when the ball hits the deck have been his strength. Heā€™s been underdone most of this year so not sure we have seen him back at his best yet.

Kid is going to be a quality key defender and will be yet another great piece of late order recruiting from that ā€œdudā€ Adrian Dodoro.

Can this farking title be changed? I get a pain in the guts seeing a Bomber player associated with any Carlscum.

Agreed.

It could at least be something like "Carlisle minus the Sooking"

Onya Zerk

Great to see they do this as Harts as the more experienced kpd could just as easily been assigned to him.

Any news on his injury today?

Looked very distressed coming off the ground.

Ultra important player for the VFL this year.

Looked like it may have been a kick to the back of the knee, but afterwards more likely a Hamstring.

Letā€™s hope itā€™s the former. :crossed_fingers:

looks a super talent this kid

From my uneducated opinion, it was either a bad corkie or hammy. He kept pointing to the back of this thigh- right up the top, when he was discussing with the medical staff.

Having a run up and down the boundary afterwards showed it mustā€™ve been an impact type injury.

From the VFL report

The only sour note however was losing Zerk-Thatcher to a hamstring injury late in the third term, with the promising youngster to have scans tomorrow to assess the extent of his injury.

Didnā€™t he come back on?

Nope, he tried a few times to run around the boundary line doing drills but he didnā€™t get back on.

Generally the strains high up are the worse ones are the not?

Generally you donā€™t get assisted off the ground like he was unless itā€™s s bad one.

Wouldnā€™t be surprised if we donā€™t see him for a long time.

He was hobbling around at 3/4 time. No ice on it. Lots of support staff giving him commiseration pats on the back. Looked very sore.

Fingers crossed it was a big corkie.

The fact they taped him up and he did run throughs should be an ok sign. However given how sore he looked it doesnā€™t bode well.

Is an each way bet what they mean, when they say gamble responsibly?

Hartleyā€™s instagram story has footage of him hobbling #courage. Not a good sign

Itā€™s whether thereā€™s tendon involvement or not.
If it is a tendon strain the recovery time basically doubles compared to something thatā€™s solely muscle.
