“I think our supporters should get excited. He just strikes me as a player who the bigger the occasion, the bigger the moment, the more he thrives on it and they’re the players you’re looking for at AFL level because it’s a brutal environment and it’s tough,” he said.

For Scott to “jump the shark” so early in media remarks about Caddy, confirms my thoughts. At 18, Nate exhibits all the signs of being a generational player who has the capacity to inspire the team he plays for to reach the pinnacle of success.

The greatest players of the past 20 years, guys like Gazza Jnr havent been incredible from day dot.
I just hope he keeps going until he gets the absolute most out of his talent.

I don’t understand the thinking here. Why would Scott put that much pressure on an 18 year old first year player?
Regardless of his temperament, it goes without saying that he has a lot of maturing to do mentally and physically, a lot of adjustments to make to the AFL lifestyle. He needs to develop relationships with his teammates without the coach putting him on a pedestal from day dot.
Expectations can stifle as well as propel. Crazy approach in my eyes.
Yeah I feel those people getting excited for Harley Reid, need to get just as excited for Caddy. But temper expectations for his first year.
