I’d take half the output of Lance Franklin across his career. Would make Nate a >500 goal forward.
so he’d roll a jeep onto its side instead of roof?
No, he’d roll it on the roof, but in Beaumaris instead of Rose Bay.
“I think our supporters should get excited. He just strikes me as a player who the bigger the occasion, the bigger the moment, the more he thrives on it and they’re the players you’re looking for at AFL level because it’s a brutal environment and it’s tough,” he said.
“While probably internally we have to temper expectations with him, and this is a cliché at the moment, but there’s just no limit on what he can do. We’re not going to hold him back for the sake of holding him back,” he said.
I hope he never plays, and his legend grows to unseen heights!
Geez you’re really committing to character harder than ever recently
I’m just trying to lower expectations in this place so people don’t get hurt.
Take it to the blind-optimism happy-clapper thread Brad, sheesh.
I meant in season 1.
If he played every game i wouldnt expect more than a dozen goals.
For the year.
Its an Essendon supporters forum.
Its probably impossible to have expectations further damaged.
For Scott to “jump the shark” so early in media remarks about Caddy, confirms my thoughts. At 18, Nate exhibits all the signs of being a generational player who has the capacity to inspire the team he plays for to reach the pinnacle of success.
Do yourselves a favour Bomber supporters……strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride.
Ohh, right.
Yeah, I’d be stoked if in season one he plays 20 games and kicks 10-15 goals.
So Tsatsas, Reid, Cox.
Your all yesterdays news.
Ill believe it when I see it.
The greatest players of the past 20 years, guys like Gazza Jnr havent been incredible from day dot.
I just hope he keeps going until he gets the absolute most out of his talent.
Just hope he’s still with Essendon when he does!
I don’t understand the thinking here. Why would Scott put that much pressure on an 18 year old first year player?
Regardless of his temperament, it goes without saying that he has a lot of maturing to do mentally and physically, a lot of adjustments to make to the AFL lifestyle. He needs to develop relationships with his teammates without the coach putting him on a pedestal from day dot.
Expectations can stifle as well as propel. Crazy approach in my eyes.
Yeah I feel those people getting excited for Harley Reid, need to get just as excited for Caddy. But temper expectations for his first year.
Harrison Jones Debut year in 2021 looks ok.
debut years for forwards
S Cumming 10 games 32 goals
J Hird 16 games 31 Goals
H Jones 16 games 20 goals
M Pavlich 18 games 14 goals
J Stringer 10 games 12 goals
S Lucas 14 games 11 Goals
J De Goey 16 games 6 goals
Josh kennedy 4 games 5 goals
M Lloyd 5 games 7 Goals
Daniher 5 games 3 goals
Langford 8 games 3 goals
Wright 3 games 1 goal
A Thurgood 1 game 1 goal
I hope in the future clone hirdy asks caddy for an autograph or photo or some ■■■■ and gets told you should’ve built a pool earlier. and walks off
Maybe Scott has been intuitive in assessing Nate’s personality and what types of reactions inspire his performances……time will tell!
Whenever anyone said that in the past, EFC usually said “Hold my beer”.
You’re a tough group to break.
