Respectfully, you’ve kinda proven my point. It all comes down to what constitutes a beanpole. On that front, I suspect we might be talking about two different things.
If you cannot differentiate between the likes of Cox or Reid when compared to Daniher or Harry McKay at u18 level then any further discussion will be pointless. In the sense you reference, yes, all of them are beanpoles and nowhere near strong enough to consistently be a force as a KPP at senior AFL level.
Few are talking about recruiting ready made talls and avoiding guys that need to put on size and strength. The question is over whether or not the kids that are especially lean are more injury prone or if we’ve had a tough run of luck recruiting this type of player.
Again, a lot of 2+2=5 there.
Any sporting injury is going to multi factorial in nature. To put them down to any singular issue (ie unprofessionalism) when you/I know nothing of what goes on in the athlete’s life is incredibly myopic.
Yeah, they are. Google images of the names mentioned and compare. Joe and McKay are clearly bigger.
My query is not at all about disparaging Reid or Cox’ prospects because they were especially small. Just asking if we have a rough run with this player and if so, why.
Reid is all class and composure and can at least hit targets with handballs down back.
Reid, pick 8, Kako and Caddy gives you four top 10 draft picks conceivably playing together next year.
There really is no need to start from scratch, nuke the list etc.
Oh yep, top 10 draft picks = good footballers. Got it
There’s something like 20 first round picks on our list. Literally half of our list are first round picks and we’re terrible, so your theory really doesn’t check out
