I thought it was one of his best for years
Geez Ants. Most of Blitz despises Shiel yet he was even getting talked up in the match thread of all places.
I was really worried about this kid after the first 2 games. Thought he was another bust from the 2020 draft. Hes been bloody sensational the last 2 games. Im now understanding the hype we would hear for years in training reports. The spoils, the effortless runs, the great disposal.
Wierd that the guy from that draft whose played the least actually looks like the only win from it.
l had him BOG up to half time, his was a dominant display. He got out of the blocks early and used his pace to set momentum rolling our way, he was very much a catalyst.
āHorribleā???
Meanwhile over on the votes page many gave Shiel votes or a mention as being unlucky to not get a vote.
You mustāve been watching a different game
Half of his disposals in the first quarter were turnovers. His second quarter was good. Second half almost unsighted.
You wernt alone i had the same doubts.
Shiel had 14 disposals and 2 turnovers in the 1st quarter
It is absolutely vital to our team that this guy remains healthy.
I really really like Lewis Hayes but Reids kicking out of defense is just too absolutely elite to ignore. Some of the kicks he hit yesterday havnt been seen from us in years out of the back.
And not just that, he has been judging when to switch off his man and help out extremely well too.
Please let him stay injury free.
I do wonder what we are going to be doing with Hayes now though.

Shiel had 14 disposals and 2 turnovers in the 1st quarter
Watch it again
I did. You should watch it again.
Iāve been a critic of his kicking being too conservative, but he was keeping the ball in the corridor and moving it forward instead of the sideway chips weāve seen a lot of before. Itās starting to look like a real weapon. I canāt think of anyone else at 2 m plus who is as accomplished by foot.
His kicking is elite. Praying his body holds up
Watch it thrice
Iām not convinced you watched it once.
Iām not convinced any of you know which thread youāre posting onā¦
Shiel was nowhere near as good as what people said he was. Back on topic, Reid was awesome
Heās the one guy in the entire league youād rest!!
The guys barely played in 4 years, heās not needed matchup wise and he breaks when someone looks at him, anyone with have half a brain would give him a rest.
Heās unfortunately going to break down at times, minimizing the risk is the smart thing to do.
Heās in form, finding his feet at the AFL level, and physically fit.
His body needs repetition. He just had a bye week. He does not need to be rested at all.
