#31 - Zach Reid

Just like the rest of the team, he looks good against crap opposition and crap against good opposition.

Well looks like McKay has been dropped so even Bradley (his number 1 fan) thinks he’s struggling…

I desperately want him to come good. I mean, at what fkn point are we going to start getting some value from first round picks? I just think he won’t come good all of a sudden. You can’t go from 2019 - 2026, miss that much footy and ever reach your potential. I’d take serviceable right now - anything more than that would be a bonus/remarkable

I know that covid draft was a shitshow but man have we just blown so many first and second round picks

In all honesty the 2020 draft isn’t all that spectacular. We couldn’t have taken Goulden ( Academy), but I’d definitely take Oli Henry, Max Holmes and McCreery, over Perkins, Reid or Cox.

Treacy too

Henry is just Perkins in a better team. Agree with the rest though

I’d love to just see Reid just go hard for once.
Clamp ya teeth, cross ur eyebrows, get angry and actually crack in.
If your spoiling from the side, go 100% and ensure the ball is destroyed. Give your opponent a massive corky to the hip because you came in like a battering ram.
Dig your heels into the ground if your trying to hold your position.
He needs to stop being such a push over

Yes, see ball, get ball. Mckay needs to do same.

Given all the footy he’s missed and his body letting him down, he’s got a lot of catching up to do. And it shows in his play.

So important he stays fit and keeps playing the rest of the season. We should see a better Reid and what he could actually be by then.

He was better yesterday. Still a way to go, but he was making and killing contests a bit more often in the second half. Fingers crossed this is progress which continues.

Yep he was better but he’s super low on confidence. In the first quarter I watched him clear the space beautifully with his body to defend the ball but then just left it for the Giants. To me that showed a few things. One he knows how to defend, but he doesn’t know how do to it with his teammates and finally he’s not backing himself to finish the good work he started.

He seems to be involved one way or another in the majority of opposition goals and I commented on that at half time like most weeks. After half time I didn’t notice him as much, which is a good thing, but still a long way to go. I think Blakiston being there instead of McKay helped as he really has a crack.

Great to see him take the game on with some lasers straight up the guts- good signs

All our defence was badly exposed early today. But thought he was good 2nd half. Better use of the ball from him.

In my votes today. Solid defensively and his ball use was exquisite.

He’s a really good kick. Took on some dangerous choices and hit them centimetre perfect.

I just feel that him getting trust in his body is the pass mark for this season.

Next season he needs to become a player.

His best game for the year

He’s a bit backy at the moment. You could understand why. The way we’re playing doesn’t really encourage anyone to take the game on.

We know he’s a lovely kick.

There were a couple of moments in the second half where he just read the ball better that were the promising signs.
