I really want him to kick on and play like he did at the beginning of last year but he just hasn’t found that confidence. Symptomatic of so many this year. He’s 6 ft 7 and he can’t kill a contest on a goal line, doesn’t show consistent aggression in general contests. Seriously what is it with so many players who would realistically all be in the VFL in any other side. It doesn’t cut it at the elite level

Maybe I’m an old dinosaur but Reid just plays so casually and inoffensively. No intensity. No niggling. No mongrel whatsoever. Doesn’t want to upset anyone. Brereton would kick 15 on him just by looking at him.

I feel theirs a player that would normally sit on the 2nd or 3rd best defender, but with ridleys mind being at another club, and mckay (yeah whatever) hes getting cooked. playing out the season is the aim

Had a scan on knee - nothing serious better than a hamstring. Just a niggle.
Caldwell went in for scans as well……as expected he is likely playing injured………..why???

At this point, with how we are going, it’s probably like local footy where blokes are pouncing on any hint of a niggle to stay inside and get rub downs and sit out training and game day rather than get smacked in the dead of winter lol

If he has a sore knee but no actual injury, but playing through it, I think that’s a good thing.

Had a pleasing season so far. has managed to get through 16 games without injury. Last two weeks have been good. Beat sharman and a good battle with Morris.

He’s also trying to hold up in a back 6 where hes one of probably 2 actual defenders. He may look a bit casual at times, but for myriad reasons id say his mental resilience is pretty underrated.

Morris kicked 2.4 and could easily have bagged 5. He beat Reid.
Reid is a huge disappointment and has been over rated by many.

Pretty much going solo as our only key defender, on a hiding to nothing really with the ball coming in 60+ per game under zero pressure.
Given he has played every game I think? I’d say he is on track for a top ten BnF.

Keep sending him up. At absolute worst I think he can slot into the Ridley intercept loose man/distributor role and be pretty good. He’s got a very good kick.
Lewis Hayes is an important component of our future defence. If he can be the no-nonsense lock down tall and Reid more intercept then that works well. I was disappointed with his contest work yesterday.
