#32 - Ben McKay

Hahaha this made me laugh

We’re not delisting him, it isn’t a bluff. But we’d probably trade him cheap.

Sing me up, we take Jones, you take McKays Contract and Tsatas or we walk him to the PSD.

This does make sense.

If they didn’t watch any of his games this year.

Cal Twomey said as much (that we’re open to trading him).

He’s got three years left with a trigger for a fourth.

Crazy they put a trigger on that deal

Open to trading him seems to be putting it mildly

I heard last night they are sayin Jones offer from the dogs is 8 to 900 k, ■■■■ we have the cash give him 1 to even 1.2 I reckon hes that good and we are cashed up.to the eyeballs. Exactly the type we need

Money is not so much the issue as length of contract. 5 years is way too long for a player who hasn’t done all that much

My god, people are acting like Jones is prime Toby Greene.

Yeah I get what you mean , but he looks a very low risk to me. Seems very keen on the hard stuiff , contest animal and Gives me andy lovett in full flight running down the wings level of excitment vibes

There has got to be more to it than just form. Why would a club just throw the baby out with the bathwater with a 200cm KPD, when we have a gaping hole in that position?

Spot on I am more than happy to throw money at fringe guys to get them to come on 2-3 deals but locking in five year deals in our position would be nuts.

It is possible that Ben’s form is a product of other issues. Confidence is obvious but it might be an attitude thing as well. Low self esteem could mean he’s not setting a good example for the new guys coming in? I’m Spitballing and maybe he’s perfect but who knows

Funnily enough, this was the exact same argument used to get Ben McKay in the first place.

No brainer for a contender who needs a KPD. Cheap gamble.

Reminiscent of the Dawks cutting loose Hay and Rawlings with pretty much no one in the sheds.

Or North letting McKay go to us when they were and still are crying out for big backmen.
Their willingness to let him walk (albeit they scored a very good draft pick in return) should have been our warning

We are stuck with the big fkg spud.

Hope we can trade, we aren’t winning many games next year would be a great apprenticeship for Hayes to work with Reid. Maybe we keep Blakiston if McKay goes - speaking of spuds.
