#33 Hussien “Hussy” El Achkar - documentary out Fri 27/2

It also says Jamie Elliott is at 177cm. They also say a kick that lands defender side of a contest is effective as long at it goes over 30m and isn’t marked. The AFL app, and it’s metrics for things are as useful and reliable as a vic metro timetable.

Look I’m stoked on Sharp and love we have some actual grunt and size. But to say we couldn’t use more small forwards and our 23 each week can’t have three smalls is just not right. I’d kill to have Bedford, Jones and Toby Green each week it seems a nice toy to have.

Not “medium forwards” just generic mediums Id say. They don’t play as traditional crumbers in that “small forward” role.

(Edit: I was very confused as I saw Waterhouse stand on people’s heads)

NO. I’m Bomber Ricko!!!

Thanks for the clips! How fast is he, doesn’t look lightning but hopefully makes up for it with some decent footwork?

Ta for notes.

Rioli had pretty good straight line speed. From just the few highlights I’ve seen, it seems Huss is very agile/evasive and can burst those first few steps compared to most, but not so clear about his top speed if it’s a (say) 35 m race to a ball out in empty space? Can you comment?

Fantasia and Walla were always best when playing together; its hard for a defence to lockdown two dangerous small forwards.

Hope Kako and Huss can form a similar partnership.

It was such a pity that Orazio had so many injuries. When he was on his game, he was just about unbeatable.

Welcome Huss

Kako, Huss and SEH up forward pls

Throw in Merrett also

Is there a link to this clip

There was about two-thirds of a season where he played I think 11 or 12 games straight and was vying with Eddy Betts to be the best small forward in the comp. (TBH, he was never as good as Betts.) But then he copped the first big injury and never really was fully fit again. Such a pity.

Yeah it’s a good question. He’s not Charlie Cameron but he’s fast enough. Like you say good footwork and he thinks fast.

Yeah I’m not sure how fast he is in a sprint. Like I said above he’s not Charlie Cameron fast but he’s not slow. He is evasive, quick footwork.

The Rioli comparison is more than when he’s close to goal opponent sh** themselves as he just has freakish ability to turn nothing into something.

If he gets himself super fit and works on his pressure/tackling he’ll be a ripper.

We’re badly in need more creative, instinctive small forwards (Guelfi, Gresham, Hobbs, Unwin, Davey, Menzie, etc ain’t it) so the opportunity for him is there if he puts the work in.

It sucks for us list-wise but I’m rapt for him that he’s ended up on the senior list. Good luck to the lad!
