#15 Jayden Laverde - π‹π’π―πžπ“›π“ͺ𝓾𝓰𝓱 𝕃𝔸𝕍 (Part 1)

I thought Laverde was drafted as a midfielder who can play forward. Now it seems they developed him into a half forward?
Is he more of a mid or fwd?

In his draft year it was 5050 mid /fwd but more wing as a mid.

Everyone’s a mid, forward and back.

All mids are forwards/backs nowadays, I reckon. But same can’t be said for all forwards and backs being mids.

Fair enough but I expect our forwards to drift down back in certain situations and our backs are encouraged to work their way up the field to create a loose man and may even sneak a cheeky goal.

Great example last week with Hurls and Irish.

Yup.
You can see the actual physical shape of players changing over the years to allow for greater flexibility. The speed of the game and sheer aerobic requirement means more Hurls/Rances and less Micky Martens.

HOW DARE YOU

IT’S TIME

Rolling zones, Presses, Clusters, etc…modern day tactics that have created the modern β€œaerobic” player.
You may only spend 5% game time at a certain part of the ground but when you do you better know how to do it.

Had a game that if Francis had the same game we’d all be slamming him.

Give him a good run at it, has all the tools to become the player we hope.

DROP

being Jerrett in

What are you 12?

You are allowed to put some thought into your posts.

One guy isn’t playing because he’s injured. The same guy had a fairly average last month of footy.

The other guy has played about 3 weeks of footy for the year and kicked 9 goals in the VFL.

Pull your head in.

… unless of course you were being sarcastic.

Thought he had a good 1st and there were some pressure acts. Much better than green after half a season off.

Stays in the side. Still returning from injury/getting his mojo back.

Heh. That was… not particularly good.

Bit different being a deep VFL forward compared to zoning up and down the ground all day.

The game will have done him good though.

Thought he offered a lot in the 3rd as the ball was bombed forward but got spoiled by teammates a couple times in the packs.

Will the same people who put down Green, be going after Lav now ?

he was brought in cos he kicked 6 last week, and didn’t kick one at all. If that was green, people would be wanting him dropped.
