#34 Andrew “Flipper” Phillips - flipping off the boots

So, the Tom Cutler thread was a chance to bag the crap out of Guelfi, Langford & co, and now the Andrew Phillips thread is the chance to bag Bellchambers.
Gotta love Essendon supporters who just can’t enjoy something for the off season at least!

Listen you could be right, you may be wrong, but if there’s any player only being chased by one club, and that club’s Carlton, then I’m immediately suspicious.

He is going to be paid an inordinate amount of money over the next 2. Money we quite possibly didn’t have.

Just out of interest, why is it viewed as bagging? Is it not just opinion?

But he just might be the superstar we’re looking for

I hope Phillips plays on Pittonet at some point next season because he will absolutely smash him.

He’s the perfect number 2 ruckman.

Dominated Clarke in the first pre season game this year

Phillips is a big Big boy has a good ruck craft and in the limited games I’ve seen of him he throws his weight around at stoppages which is what our puny midfielders need.

He should be good for Drapers development too imo as Draper has struggled against the bigger stronger experienced ruckman in the past.

Who out of Somerville, Alessio, Banks and O’Connor do you rate as a better ruckman than Salmon?

Maybe we rate Draper higher?

it always ■■■■■■■ me thatvwe would play somerville a good honest ruckman over Salmon and then he left.

This time last year, no problems rating Draper higher than anything available.
Coming off an injury that’ll effect next season?
That changes the answer drastically.

I for one, welcome our new overlord Phillips

I reckon he could displace Bellchambers.

But that says more about Bellchambers than Philips.

If by ‘bag’ you mean ‘play armchair expert and rate the players on the list’…

…well, yeah.

Mate, this ain’t the Mamma Mia blog.

I agree. Belchambers was very ordinary last season.

He battled and made contests but tbh instead of banging supermodels and hanging out shirtless at public events he could have put a bit more into his preparation and maintenance.

So it seems from afar…

No. Definitely Bernie. Former Hawk.

l have a clear memory of Percy Jones dong pretty much the same thing to the musement of all and sundry. Perce even had a wry smile at the end of hs own antics.

I’m sure you do Captain Jack, I’m sure you do…

In 95-96 Somerville looked like a very, very good thing. And Alessio was used as the 2nd ruck.

History says Salmon’s ruck career surpassed either, but that’s with hindsight.
