#35 Matt Guelfi - now til 2026!

Scott’s said he’s big on playing players in their best positions, so he likely wouldn’t be coming in just to move the magnets around. He’s competing against Menzie/Davey/Snelling for that pressure small forward spot

Seems he has hamstring soreness

That explains non selection

Doesn’t sound like an injury as much as precaution

Needs to come in for Hepp. Hopefully he’s good after the 8 day turnaround.

I like Davey but he’s too green. Needs to do his apprenticeship.
If Guelf is fit he starts in the forward pocket where he can do what he’s best at; applying defensive pressure, hitting the scoreboard and mouthing off like a huge smartarse.

If Davey goes out who is going to be our CHF target?

Beyond ridiculous how often players who return from a soft tissue injury manage to get injured again

Going down the same path as Snelling 2021, soft tissue after soft tissue :see_no_evil:

History repeating itself:

Snelling ‘21-22 - has a career year as a small forward culminating in a 3rd place Crichton Medal Finish. Soft tissue injury picked up in pre season ‘22, brought back too early, picks up a significant soft tissue injury and subsequently misses the majority of the ‘22 season

Guelfi ‘22-23 - has a career year as a small forward culminating in a 3rd place Crichton Medal finish. Soft tissue injury picked up in pre season ‘23, (arguably) brought back too early, picks up significant soft tissue injury and looks likely to miss a bulk of the season.

It’s as almost our medical staff aren’t very good at their jobs or something.
