For a nabs nom Guelfi has to produce something special and ignite the Bombers towards a blitz!
The Guelf loves a goal
In goals we trust this guy will play his heart out for us and then someā¦I love it!
Who seriously fkg cares about rising star noms?
Bomberblitz last year when Mcgrath won it.
Lewis Taylor won the rising starā¦over Bontempelli.
came in showed grit and did the hard stuff, smothers, chase downs, defense
now heās kicking 2 goals a game and being a last qtr specialist
instant footballer, has that quiet āiām really good at this caperā confidence about him
Bahahaha.
Iāve got stuck into Bunnahabhain and Port Charlotte tonight.
This comment has fkn nailed it!
Mature recruit who we need to find more of, instead of list cloggers that we have. Reminds me of Jason Johnson, should be a long term player for the Bombers.
See ball/player, get ball player -
Weak draft.
With another preseason and a few more kgās this bloke is going to be the steal of the draft, if he isnt already.
#keepdodoro
Still no love. Sam Taylor from GWS with Rising star vote
Pure bullshit!
Wtf
They couldnāt ignore McGrath, he was a number one pick and playing well. If he hadnāt won questions would have been asked. Guelfi is a late pick who no-one but Essendon fans even knows about. Makes him easy to ignore by the muppets who vote for the rising star.
Thereās gotta be more of these types out there in state leagues. Take a punt with a late pick, one year deal, show us what youāve got rather than others who weāve retained a few years too long who wonāt improve. Love what Guelfi has brought to us this season. Find us another couple please @westozziebomber @anon71769209 @benfti
But nominating any1 of Sean Darcy, Charlie Spargo, Bailey Banfield they played way betterā¦who is Taylorās Mom?
The great thing about him is he is hardly a āmatureā recruit at all. He sits between Langford and Parish age-wise and he clearly hasnāt yet had the benefit of two years of elite full-time strength and conditioning that other draftees his age may have had. The fact that he is performing to a very good level already despite this is a really really good sign. The physical development scope alone for this kid is huge.
Guelfi has IMO been the find of the season and it wonāt be long before he starts to be recognised. Likely it will be the opposition coaches before the media and general public because he is having real impact after only 11 AFL games.
PS - how good are his hands? Have heard a few comments regarding what his āweaponā is - well his aerial work looks blo0dy impressive to me.
I can give you a 19 year old playing for Cannons, Mitch Podhajski, 190cm. He is like a medium version of Guelfi. Probably with more potential.
He is dominating TAC cup playing as a big bodied midfielder. Kicks goals, rests forward, good kick, leadership, racks up possessions. During the champs he did a stint in the VFL for Coburg and stepped up seamlessly; would have averaged 20+, 7 tackles and 1 goal a game.
Last year, in his senior year, he played as an undersized KPD which ruined his chance at getting drafted but showed his āGuelfi-likeā desire to do what is best for the team. @THE_DON1 could probably tell more specific details about him.
Donāt know where he will go draft night, likely 30+ at the moment
If Iām looking at some recent unlucky draftees Iād have a look at Noah Answerth from Oakleigh, I feel he would instantly go ahead of McNeice to play as a depth small defender but he can also run through the midfield and even kicked a few goals in the under 18 championships. Tough, takes the game on and someone I liked as a top 30 pick last year before his freak back injury against Eastern.
I donāt mind Podhajski either and he can play anywhere on the ground, I watched him on the weekend and I didnāt think he was overly impressive so still a late prospect. Funny that these two played against each other on the weekend haha
Luke Foley is a 19 year old from WA who has a good mix of inside and outside with some clubs looking at him somewhere in the 20-35 range.
