Best debut since zaharakis being a huge gun with wheels.

Stop reminding us of players who looked a million bucks early and needed up being average.

He has the type of attitude weve been needing.

^ Does.

And the modern day physique. Light and fast , a little height and skills. How the game has changed. Will go well :+1:

This guy is a breath of fresh air.
interview after the game with his dad was elite. 200 gamer.

couldn’t ask for much more. i was hoping he would challenge Martin’s 5 goals on debut, but i guess he was younger than Martin anyway.

Such a grounded young man as well, what you see is what you get. I like it. Nothing pretentious, a real honest bloke, don’t think it will ever go to his head.
Definitely found one here along with Roberts

I sat on the wing that he played all night.

First thing I noticed was him hitting the first target of the night - maybe 10 mins in - spotting up Kako with an inboard pass.

The other thing I noticed (other than the goals) was that he was constantly finding space through sheer work rate. I know little about what our coaches are trying to achieve, but I think they’ll love that. He is a tenacious bugger too.

I don’t care if Jones comes back and has a billion touches in the 2s (lol), Angus needs to stay in.

Jones v Clarke isnt even a discussion. Clarke delivered the equivalent or better than Jones does, and he seems to have a higher ceiling. I think that Clarke should be kept in for as long as his body can handle it this season.

One thing bit of body language that indicated he has the necessary self confidence to be a very good player happened after he took the mark to kick his first goal. After outbodying his opponent and taking the mark, he immediately spat on the ground as he was getting up. It had the vibe of, “that’s f—ing right, you know I belong.”

I like that Martin reminded him afterward “3 is no 5, but good effort”

It was a very encouraging and fun game.

However, I would note his direct opponent Ralphsmith scored 2 goals and was also one of their most influential players in the first half. So, maybe Blitz shouldn’t name him a messiah quite yet.

I remember the shot on goal but not the lead up to it.

Laycock, Justin Murphy, Cupido and then Zantuck with the sublime finish.

What a team.

I was sitting on the wing, at the top of the Southern Stand, and I was watching Clarke really closely.

I didnt really see him playing on Ralph Smith. He looked to be playing on Macintosh most of the game to me.

It wasn’t McIntosh he outmarked for his goal. It was Ralpsmith.

He certainly won’t play Richmond’s VFL team on a wide open G every week. But we have to accept some inherent ups and downs min playing young players and not look to drop him at the first opportunity.

And yet for all that, someone else could have been selected in his place
