Kako will get nominated at some point barring injury. Johnson could have a shot given our half back/wings get high numbers. Plus he naturally wins high numbers and his kicking is eye catching.
On a separate note, the nomination system is far from a perfect one. Kako has been very solid for a first year small forward in a dysfunctional forward line. There has been a handful of worthy games where he could have been awarded, but because thereās been a bigger pool of top candidates early on he goes unrewarded. So itās a bit of cop out that Clarke can get a nomination after 1 game. Just my two bobs worth anyway.

That reminds me of another ā ā ā ā ā in the system. Itās pretty rare that a player gets nominated when their team loses. The rising star seems to be slightly compromised by media wanting headlines and sometimes sharing the nominations around different clubs for feel good stories.

we lost, but it was also early in the season.
i still think back to the practice match where he dominated. He kicked 4 goals against the cats and that game was worthy of a nomination. Pity it was the preseason.
I wonder if he heard about it from his grandpa for missing his 4th goal?

I think Kako will get one before the end of year, we could engineer it a bit too if we wanted to get him on the end of a few in a game. Heās going to be a legit superstar.
