#36 - Angus Clarke

He hasn’t been training there. Needs time to learn the strategy and tactics in that role.

Oh absolutely.
But we’re a little short on options ATM.

No chance is Clarke a better contested mark compared to Duursma.
Duursma is constantly crashing into packs forward and defense and clunking them

Love this kid. He looks 14, but attacks the ball like he is in his mid 20s

Good skills too

Like the kid but he pulled out of two marking contests in the first that if it was Davey we would have crucified

Yeah he did in the first qtr I think( one on the goal line). After that I thought he really responded.

I love that he didn’t go into his shell, he kept persisting.i thought he competed really well in the air as well, especially against bigger opponents

Absolutely he did. And if he made a habit of it, he’d cop it like Davey has.

I don’t think that’s going to be the case though.

Worth reflecting he just played his 3rd game as a faux key defender against Mitch McGovern.

If he plays less than 200 games I’ll be floored.

Hi squibbed a couple of contests early, doesn’t seem to have the body pressure yet, but manoeuvred pretty well at times on McGovern. Yeah he shouldn’t have been playing on him, but as mentioned we are short on options. And he played the role well.

Like him a lot, he and Johnson should remain in would hate to see them demoted when Ridley/McKay/Redman/Reid are all back in.

The vision and skill to nail that kick was elite, was one of the highlights of the game for me.

Yes. He failed to impact 2 contests early that resulted in goals during the 1st quarter

But he’s a kid. Still lots to like.

I think he’s a lot better suited to the wing at this stage. But last week would have been a good learning experience, like that Zac Williams goal, where he was ball watching and Williams snuck away and ran into open goal.

I’m really liking that we have some solid wingman options now. Also that we have Duursma who is a smart wingman who plays the role diligently to act as a leader amongst an upcoming crop.

This guy is my fav so far from the latest crop. Just a good mix of size, competitiveness, athleticism, flexibility and skill. I think we are very fortunate he was available at our pick. Well done Rosa.

I think Rookie Me ran out of words when they said that he needed to improve his “Rawness”

Rookie Me lost all credibility after I read this…

Lost me at elite speed.

I am confused by improving rawness. Does that mean you become more or less raw?

He just needs to become more cooked. Fortunately, he has the right strength and conditioning team to make that happen.

Tsatas has elite speed, have seen it in VFL, not AFL.

Wardlaw gave him a good endorsement. We all thought Wardlaw might end up at EFC, but maybe Tsatas will end up at North.

From 2022 article pre draft.

Wardlaw and Tsatas have been playing together – and causing ample headaches for opposition sides – at various levels of footy since representing Vic Metro at Under 12s. The image of Wardlaw winning a contested possession at the coalface then feeding the footy out for Tsatas to sprint forward and spear the ball inside 50 to a teammate is ingrained in the minds of many rival coaches.

“We have played enough footy with each other to understand each other’s strengths,” Wardlaw said of Tsatas to foxfooty.com.au. “It‘s awesome and pretty satisfying winning a hard ball and just letting him go to work running along the wing or wherever he may be.

“He’s a terrific player. His ball use and his speed are pretty prevalent. He’s still able to hit pretty hard kicks at top speed, which is something I really admire.”
