Pure winger I’d think.

I would get him on the Oliver Dempsey training program. A goal kicking winger who gets down back to give a chop out.

His front and centre work inside 50 was impressive.
Had an ‘almost’ first quarter amd then really found his feet.
Clarke is a high footy IQ player. We don’t have many of those and it really shows when watching him live as compared to the TV. Just needs to be 5% fitter which is probably a reflection of the break he had during the year. He improved on last year and is starting to look at home in the top tier.

Standard Essendon robbed of a good chunk of his season to develop.
Anyway, he’s a player, and for the club to progress, the type who needs to go to a level again next year with improvement.
Plenty to like.
Geez I like the way this kid plays footy.

Once he really believes he belongs he will be a really good player me thinks
Clarke was an interesting one for me coming into the season based on no firm position and no real outstanding trait.
Hes a very sound footballer and good footy IQ and now looks to settle on a wing. Hopefully a fit 2027 and he can really kick on.

Yep strap him to a chair Clockword Orange style and let him absorb Dempsey’s game footage.

He attacks the ball at real speed
His skills are pretty good
And he has a lot of fire and competitiveness
His workrate and running off the ball for someone his age is immense as well

Plays tall for his actual height bit like Caddy, wiry with a nice stretch

Posted on bigfooty by carloss. Nice little article on Gus from a Limestone Coast perspective but also chatting to him about his difficult season and the injury set backs he faced.

Hope this guy isn’t languishing in the two’s next year while we prioritise Fiorini and Bowes.
Up to Gussy to make sure that doesn’t happen.

He’ll run rings around them if he’s fit.
