Jayden shows more than alwyn and this is first year off a knee injury. He isn’t as soft and has better goal sense.

You know i read yesterday that alwyn won the best young player award at Essendon last year, or something along those lines. I couldn’t believe it, he has been terrible in comparison to his under 18 days. Some really strange judgements on players at the club these days, there must be a whole different criteria they’re looking at. It’s actually a bit concerning.

Overall though, Jayden definitely deserves another year, alwyn, not so sure you can undo his level of softness to ever make it as a decent afl footballer.

Sounds like your having a crack at the JHA.

Alwyns junior year was good.
kako has been good this year too.

But historically you look back at the following
Watson
Daniher x 2
Long
Wallis
Davey x 2
Wanganeen
Hird

None of them really hit the ground running in their first season at the EFC, yes Watson may be before academy got going but still relevant somewhat to Houli’s discussion of being comfortable early days.
Joe Daniher equivelant to top 10 pick, but early days I doubt he was putting heaps of work in at the gym, just getting by on talent.

maybe it comes down to the individual.

Who was his competition Tsatas was injured and barely played a game.
Davey and Tsatas were the only ones that played AFL really last year from that draftee group.

Yes good point, but Hayes was better than him, despite not getting a senior gig.
