#36 Michael Hartley

He is an AFL player. If you watch VFL you can tell he is better than that. Good on him

If Clarke played tonight we would have thrashed Adelaide.

Let’s consider this. If Zac Clarke had played instead of Hartley, Hooker or Brown would have had to play back. Hartley offers so much more flexibility, and doesn’t give up much as a ruckman.

Yes Harts!!!

Just got your msg. Spot on.
Nina played well. He’s got too much talent to be playing 2’s.

He played really well, really well.

He looked to lose interest a bit last year, but he’s always been a popular clubman and plays a big role in the VFL - if he can play like this with that attitude he’s definitely got a role to play - they may even consider leaving Z.Clarke out and opting for the flexibility they get with Harts.

Played great. Not ideal in the ruck though.
When Hooker went forward he went back, Smac rucked and the game changed.

Gun. Keep him in please.

With Hurley 30 and Hooker 32 next season we’d be mad not to keep him on the list. He and Zerk could form a handy partnership one day. Who knows

As a backman, Hooker looks very close to the end, so there is certainly more reason to keep Hartley on the list if that is the case

This. His punches from behind a couple of times went 20+ meters forward giving the Crows crumbers nothing. Flogged Tex IMO. Good disposal by foot was another plus.

A pointless claim, that can never be proven. A different player would have meant a completely different game.

Hartley came in and played a role, a huge one as it turned out. Got pantsed in the ruck, then picked up Tex and beat him pointless, some of his spoils were really overhead smashes. As others have mentioned the switch of play to Francis, to Tippa to Brown for a goal was audacious. Was he given licence to do so? He has got the hoof to allow him a couple of attempts at those per match. His kicking then becomes the real weapon we all know it can be.

Good on Harts for making the most of the opportunity he was given last night. He really held his own and used his size well. Surely gets another run next week.

He is a good replacement for Hooker when the time comes. Hopefully we can keep him around that long.

His inclusion allowed Hooker to move forward and become a marking target, while maintaining the shape and integrity of the defence. Hooker was clearly hampered and lacked mobility, but Harts slotted in seamlessly.

no he doesn’t. Hooker looks like a guy carrying an injury (bad back presently).
