Ex #39 Trent Mynott - you’re cut

I had him top 30 last year

out of curiosity, do you get to see much of the interstate players?

wondering if that skews your ranking a bit?

not a criticism, love your work in the draft threads.

Darcy Fogarty was my number 1 player last year so I wouldn’t say so :stuck_out_tongue: naturally I see more of the Victorian teams than the interstate teams but Victorian’s always get the most draftees so I wouldn’t say it hinders my rankings too much

Stats wise this guy has really improved in the back half of the season. For the VFL watchers is this guy at the level of Mutch and Clarke? Could be a really good prospect once he grows into his body over another preseason or two.

IMO he will be worth putting the time into. A very handy player.

Agree. Definitely has it.

I think he’s been better than clarke to the same point.

Definitely.
In fact I’d back him in to go past Clarke in the next 18 months.

Unpopular opinion on here but I’m not sure Clarke has enough to carve an AFL career.

You can be slow with legs or disposal, but not both.

I’m the same.
Time will tell.

And as much as I personally like him, I have doubts on Mutch as well.

But I’m going to be outraged because we didn’t pick up some indigenous kid

Was it the Mynott pick that Benfti had a massive hissy fit over?

Agree

I reported he had “it” in his first practice match!

He then cut his hair and became invisible…

I think if Mutch is going to make it he needs to work on his inside ball winning. From the small sample size I’ve seen of him he appears to be a very outside player, and with no real pace and kicking that (while neat) doesn’t appear to have much damage factor he isn’t going to make it as an outside player.

He played as an inside mid in his under 18 year, he is played on the wing for us so it makes it hard for him to show much on the inside, he also doesn’t have the size for it yet.

I think he (Mutch) has shown an ability on the inside; he scraps, puts his head over the ball and throws his body around quite well. But I agree with you on him needing to specialise on becoming a genuine inside midfielder; similar to the way Heppell plays.

It took Seb Ross until his 5th year to become a regular, I don’t know if Dyl will get that long.

That’s close to the opposite of what I’ve observed.

In the long run, mynott be mutch better than our current crop of midfielders. He’s still green, but myers’ well give him a go, see if he merrets a place in the side. If his form begs us to keep him, great! If not: Dyl-list.

…I’ll just get my hat.
