Those scything low drop punts hitting all sorts of angles. Will be great to watch Francis and Langford in tandem opening up the ground with their footskills this season. If the new rules allow for slightly less congestion through the arcs then those weapons become further enhanced I reckon.
Don’t forget the things that Merrett can do with the ball
The poor man’s Darcy Parish.
i reckon lav goes ahead of lang this year.
And McGrath will leave both of them in his wake
We are in great shape if this happens. I’m a huge fan of Laverde too.
Doesn’t have much in common with Martin, Kelly, Degeoy, Ablett, Dangerfield, Swan, Judd for mine. The prototype footballer has explosive strength/pace to break away from packs.
Well some of those guys don’t even play and a couple of the others are far from being stars yet.
Would have something in common with Bont, Pendlebury, Fyfe and Mundy though.
except actual results.
Bont, Fyfe, Pendlebury, Brayshaw, Taranto…
Tall players that play inside/outside that can roll forward will take over the game if they haven’t already.
Not sure if you mean Langford is the exemplar of modern mids, or the prototype.
If the latter are you expecting all clubs to start desperately drafting big bodied laconic mids who can go forward?
Should make for interesting draft conversations.
“G’day son, how laconic are you?”
And if they can’t muster the energy to reply they get drafted.
Opens up opportunities for more teenagers to be drafted. AFL will be definitely on board.
Why is he laconic?
I can’t think of an analogy that represent the absolute futility of arguing with KM re Langford
What are we arguing about?
No. Contracted til the end of 2020
Just caught up on thread.
Langford as good a hands as McGrath…Nah
Langford is good but McGrath could have the best hands in the comp one day
Laverde to pass Kang…nah
Langford by foot would slice the Canadian in half.
