4 quarters of Consistent Footy: Is it that hard?

Got to try and control the outcome more, via many alternatives.

people confuse scoring 6 goals a qtr, across for a game as "consistent" when you can score 0 goals and be just as consistent in effort.

That being said even with the best plans, executing them etc still doesn't guarantee you a win, but puts you in a better position.

Imo the better teams of the moment, plan everything out. They have options for when things are working, when things aren't, when players are injured etc, yet still have enough of a consistent setup that players know what to do any any of those situations.

IMO we are miles behind in this area still. We rely way to much on natural ability to rule out, which just doesn't work in todays game.

Biggest issue still today, even after Knights era, is the coaches and players identifying when a team is on a roll, and stopping them, or at the least implenting something new to try and stop them.

No ONE approach to playing football in todays environment will work for 4 qtrs, let alone the majority of one qtr.

I don’t think we are ruthless enough. Get a few goals up and it’s all smiles and back slapping. We need to learn to go up a gear when we build a lead and put our foot on our opponents throat.

Smile and slap another on the back when you are 8 goals up half way through the last.

Also think it's worth noting that we did control games a few times and still only win by a kick or two. Both dogs games, Brisbane game, 1 other?? we kicked in front very late, then played kick to kick for 15 minutes.

That's surely a decision somebody's made - to hold at 2 kicks up rather than go for 3, 4 goal win.

Ha! And is there a pill that will make women want to have sex with me?

It's called rohypnol.

You're correct, its almost like we have to wait until quarter time to adapt.

Put it into context why the 2000 era side won 21 out of 22 games for three seasons, because they played 4 quarters of smart football…that team were clearly very interested in the art of how to play well…

Do kids these days understand the usage of 'one thing let alone another' ?

I often see it used completely the wrong way around, the specific situation let alone the general.
