#40 Luke Lavender - NewLAV!

Yeah, he didn’t get many disposals but liked him putting Sandy on their butt a few times. Got solid game time, including the last 25 minutes of the second quarter. That included one brutal chase/series of contests from fifty to goal face and then immediately out to 70 on the other flank.

Loved the choice to tap rather than take possession and get tackled that led to Boyse’s goal (?) in the second quarter.

A nice start for him (if we ignore the conditions/injury of Williamstown). Onwards and upwards from here! Learning where to position himself will be his main battle!

Had a crack today which is a start.

This year is all about learning the game.

BRING HIM IN

Sounds like he is ready to go for the seniors. He has their game plan down pat.

Guys i’ve worked it out
In order for Laverde to play well Langford must be in the team.
Don’t ask me how i know this but this is 100% true.
Langford and Laverde in the team = both play well
only one in the team = play like trash.

lay off the adderall.

I thought he did some good things, hope he can string a few games together.

@S_K

How about a wrap-up of Lukes first year and how he feels about the future ?

Of course!

He arrived back in Adelaide this morning after a successful shoulder reconstruction on Wednesday in Melbourne. He has now had both shoulders done in the last 12 months.

I’ll know more in coming days as he recovers about how he viewed his first year and where he sees himself next year. It has been a bumpy ride for him and there are a number of issues, but overall he remains in a positive frame of mind and is looking forward to hopefully being injury and pain free for the first time as a Bomber by day 1 of preseason.

I’ll keep in touch!

Fantastic, there is a lot of love for your boy here.

Give him my best wishes and I am sure many others on here feel the same. And thanks for letting us in to your family as well.

We’ll know more about where the club sees his future, position-wise, when we learn of Hartley’s fate.

Broken ribs. Two shoulder reco’s.
Playing in constant pain.
Spend weeks and months in rehab.
Then you front up for a preseason.

Yet we think these guys live the good life!

Very true.

That said, I’d go through that to wear the essendon guernsey on the mcg!

Can he stay on the list as a Category B rookie again next year?
is he still a Ruck/forward prospect?

Yes he can. 3 years max on the Cat B list I believe.
