THE 2014 Virgin All Australian team will have a fresh look to it, with 26 players who have not previously received the honour named in the 40-man squad released on Tuesday afternoon.
Only six players from the 2013 team were named for potential back-to-back selections – Gary Ablett, Travis Boak, Scott Pendlebury, Jarryd Roughead, Joel Selwood and Harry Taylor.
Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans are the most represented clubs in this year’s 40-man All-Australian squad, with each providing five players to the preliminary group named on Tuesday afternoon.
Geelong and Adelaide each had four players nominated, with Melbourne the only club not represented.

Eddie Betts! Really? Burgoyne!

Break, give me one.

Well done to Hooks, and Hepps.

Bags unlucky?

No Ryder?
Rance is over-rated and I thought Libba dropped off too much later in the year.

Why are there 40?

Who the fark is Brodie Smith?

No pig lol

Brandon Farking Ellis.

Seriously. C'mon. What a troll by the AFaiL

Forum needs more AA squad threads.

It's a reasonable squad of 40. Would've loved to see Ryder and Bags in their, but I think they've done a decent job this year. Far better than previous years and I fully expect Hooker and Heppell to be there in the end too.

The only real issue I have is that there is no NicNat.

If Rance makes it, I’ll burn AFL House.

Has played 5 good games.

Hooker and Talia been consistent all year.

No Hibberd? Pffffft

Four Adelaide players?

would have Ryder over Sandilands personally.

Bags con consider himself very unlucky. Hibberd injuries probably cost him a spot.

Brandon Ellis?!?!?!?!?

Gibbs? He has had a very good end to the season, but was putrid early

Who is Nick Smith?

He's the only one on that list who's a back pocket (from Sydney). They name 6 tall defenders, two half backs, and one back pocket. Absurd.

Yeah, i think the list is pretty reasonable and spot on. I don't think NicNat would be on given he was patchy and just too inconsistent early on in the season.

That's the beauty of All-Australian selection, it's very subjective.

Nick Smith has been  great for the Swans all season in the back pocket. Not sure he's had too many kicked on him.

Anyway I've tried to pick my side from the 40. ■■■■■■■ hard i can tell you.

B: Brodie Smith, Daniel Talia, Nick Malceski;

HB: Luke Parker, Cale Hooker, Eric MacKenzie;

C: Nathan Fyfe, Tom Rockliff, Gary Ablett;

HF: Robbie Gray, Buddy Franklin, Brent Harvey;

F: Jack Gunston; Jay Schulz; Luke Breust;

R: Sam Jacobs, Jordan Lewis, Matt Priddis;

Int: Joel Selwood, Callan Ward, Josh Kennedy, Dyson Heppell

No Hibberd, no Ryder, no Bags. Selectors once again, no clue.

How these 3 (in particular Paddy) didn't make the squad is farking ridiculous.
