Perhaps wasn’t wearing his orthotics
Yeah who knows haha
Good analogy. Just like the assumption by many growth is linear and Essendon will be expected to win finals in 18-24 months based on the most recent and upcoming draft hauls. It’s not realistic.
I’ve got a photo of me next to Zac a month ago and we are essentially the same height. I’m 187
It’s an obvious bias.
If it’s not height, it’s weight. If it’s not weight, it’s muscle mass. If it’s not muscle mass, it’s they aren’t strong enough. If they get beaten for pace, it’s that they are too big and slow.
If it were Dangerfield v Caldwell, I’d trust Dangerfield to win a ground ball and break away from Caldwell more often than not. Not because of his body shape but because of his performance. I’d think the same if Caldwell was up against Lachie Neale too.
To bring the discussion back to Zak Johnson, you could exchange him with Caldwell and still reach the same result.
…but also means there is no need to rush him into the senior team.
I can’t see who he would replace.
Well, there really should be a heap of options. We are not exactly flying.
However, there will be injuries at some stage and he would come in.
I don’t know how tall Jordan Dawson is, but he pretty comfortably had Jye covered for height when they contested in front of where I was sitting vs Adelaide.
190cm.
1cm taller than Dangerfield.
Not sure if you’re being derogatory my friend.
Don’t forget, Caddy & Kako are products of the Parade Footy Factory.
I suggest you wash your mouth out with soap, like the Christian Brothers made me do on occasion.
When Danger was drafted he was 186.7cm

Depends on where you’re referring to when you say junior.
He didn’t play midfield very well at Talent League level and eventually was moved out of there into other roles, and he didn’t play midfield at the Champs.
I knew he didn’t play midfield in the champs but i thought he did at northern knights. Just going off the highlights videos i saw he seemed to be midfielding. I think he has all the traits to be a good midfielder so surprised to hear he wasn’t great in there.

I recon Dangers height is listed wrong
the kind of bloke who’d wear heel lifts for the official measurement
He started off the season playing that typical mid/fwd role, 70mid/30fwd split. Then he was slowly phased out of the midfield, playing more forward, before a complete change of role into an intercepting and rebounding defender that they played loose or as a spare back there.
He wasn’t awful as a mid, just lacked a bit of intensity and willingness to really crack in hard at times.
I think he should be delisted already, seen enough
I’ve met Dangerfield a couple of times and he is my height ish, which is 190cm.
I just don’t think those photos are enough to go on. You can’t see enough context.

He wasn’t awful as a mid, just lacked a bit of intensity and willingness to really crack in hard at times.
Zac is a bottom ager, youngest guy in the draft last year I read somewhere. Possibly it was just a case of self preservation against the more mature bodies in the midfield. The talent is certainly there. He looks right at home as a general off half back.
Thank God someone said it. It was killing me.
