Other than Merrett who has he to guide him or look up too?
Life is easy at Essendon

2026 Hawthorn premiership player
I was thinking the exact same thing.
He made the vfl team of the year last year, looked great when he first arrived, now barely touches the ball, doesnât kick goals, itâs weird. I know he said he was taking duursmaâs lead to play wing, but it seems to have rid him of all his natural assets. If he comes into the afl side i want him in as a defender first.
Donât worry , brads just making sure heâs âversatileâ.
Itâs worked with Perkins - he can move from being lazy and disinterested to weak and lazy
Yeah itâs an interesting one.
Like, I get that footy is far more complex than the average fan assumes, with running patterns, holding width, balance between offence and defence etc but sometimes you wonder about the cost/benefit for some players by the time youâve put them through all that âeducational trainingâ.
For some guys, is their instinctive and natural abilities worth holding onto and allowing that to benefit the team even if it means they are not doing X and y perfectly.
All I know is that last year it looked like we had snared a gun player with some clear and obvious weapons and a guy who played with real confidence.
Ramadan is nearly through, we may see an uptick once this period is over.
He has entered our development program. The results speak for themselves.
Wouldnât care about his VFL game, weâve seen what he can do.
Bring in to replace one of many pea hearts currently.
Very good point. It must be extremely hard to get enough calories.
This is the number 1 problem IMO.
Brad had his opportunity to stamp this out when he arrived, but unfortunately he made further excuses for the players and the culture has continued to fester.
We need carnt to come in and crack heads.
Even just trying trying to play a game of footy without water
Essendon, the club where players development stagnates or declines.
I was always amazed how Bachar seemed to play even better during Ramadan. Seems like a tough gig to me.
I mean they donât not eat for a month, just dawn to sunset. It is potentially a lack of water intake but I think quite of few Muslim athletes do still drink while competing. Maybe someone could watch the replay and see.
Kyrie Irving often played some insane basketball during the period as well.
Hats off to the guys because I hated the period of fasting before operations, and thatâs far less stringent
I mean⌠weâve tried just about everything else might as well give some carnts and some crack heads a go.
Many players have got exemptions (but make it up at some other time/in some other way).
Donât know if that is the case here.

God hands out exemptions?
Middle management does.
