This is what he looked like at his best at VFL level.

Great game. Brings something different. Some
Composure.

Never sub again.

It’s not just him, but it would be good if his leads got recognised more.

General trend amongst the team that a team mate works hard to offer a good “easy” option and it’s not taken.

The fact that he was not playing over guys like Jones is a joke. This guy is legitimatley good.

His first half was fantastic.
Drifted out of it massively in the 2nd, but that’s ok. He’ll work it out

Swans might have changed things up a little also

Our guys played the whole game on the wing opposite where we were sitting - El Hawli was there a lot just chillin while all the other guys exhausted themselves but just would not budge off that wing

What is this concept?

A wing who gets the ball, can run with it, create, can kick?

I thought we could only have guys who ran really good but barely touch it - and when they do, the handball to feet or sap any momentum in the ball movement?

Geez the difference with him on the wing instead of Jones and Kelly. Badly needed.

Made some fk ups, hopefully iron those out.

Looked out of gas in the 2nd half though which is the only negative compared to the other 2.

He made a couple of very clever kicks inside 50 today.

Actually lowered the eyes, and pinpointed a spare man.

We desperately needed better users going inside 50. He’s one.

Really liked his game

Adds some speed to the team

Looks composed

Not afraid to throw his head over the ball at all

Never make him sub again

He tired towards the end, but that is to be expected for someone young and who hasn’t been in the system that long

Was good early but he was awful in the last quarter. A few scrubbed kicks and then that free kick he had were he just stood there and let the Sydney player get close enough to smoother.

He just needed to back up a few steps, give himself space, but the adrenalin wouldve been pumping hard

I mean, it is a little bit frustrating that it take a devastating injury to make one of the most obvious changes ever.

Do the coaches watch the games?

He was good i was specifically watching him all day, he was only quieter in the second half coz the ball wasn’t on his wing as much. You see this with duursma in most games, he has a big quarter then goes unsighted. I was impressed how discipline he is always covering the outlet on his wing.

The last quarter he made a couple of minor errors but i think on that last smothered one, he was trying to buy time to run down the clock. Impressive game though, i prefer wingers that are good at ground level as they’re effectively part of the midfield, so need to have good hands in close like saad does.

Keep sending him up, looks far more comfortable than jones on the wing and looks a natural. Just needs a little more composure which will come

If he keeps it up he probably ends the jones wing experiment and ends luals career

Criticising Jones at this point feels like speaking ill of the dead, but Jones should never play wing (!) over SEH again.

I love that if he sees space ahead, there is no second guessing, it’s just ball under arm and take it.
