Spoke to a couple of recruiting staff the other night who like that Nguyen has the “pest factor” about him . Example that comes mind is v Swans and Papley!

I’m pinching that. Very well put. We don’t have anywhere near enough types that opposition players wouldn’t want to play against.
Some might say he’s not best 22. I say a) they’re idiots and b) if he’s not, he will be so develop him in the senior side

Given where our club is at, and where it’s been for a long time, having guys with this kind of attitude in the team is absolutely essential. He’s raw, he’s inexperienced and he’s not gonna set the world on fire, but he plays with a spirit we desperately need.
Rapt that he’s in this week, hope he goes well, and that we see plenty of him at AFL level this season…

Zero tackles for a guy in his position is unacceptable.
Blake Hardwick had 0 tackles too, small defenders don’t tackle a lot.

He was very poor last night and looked lost more often than not. I hope he learns from it and can develop quickly this year

He was very poor, not writing him off but it was a bad game. He was really exposed in positioning and was beaten in almost every marking contest. I think he needs to be replaced by SEH who has a lot more tools to work with..

Yeah not a great game, but he was not alone.
Far from our worst kick, but he doesn’t seem to get much penetration.
Because of that one of his switches didn’t make it in time which was a 2 goal turnaround

Not many saved themselves on the weekend but Nguyen was the victim of some poor handovers on the weekend. The classic one was Reid handing over Gunston last minute.com; totally threw Jayden under the bus there. There was another one I noticed; not sure what happened but at one point Jayden looked to have 3 Hawthorn forwards to pick from.
