GET AROUND HIM!

No he didn’t. He had overwhelming support on these boards, and anyone insensitive to his issues was told off.

I don’t disagree with that, but there were some that gave him heaps is all I am saying, even though the majority were supportive.

Anyone who can do this to North Melbourne gets my 100% support.

Born to play footy.

There are a couple of points to make:

Walla is a stocky build. Even at his trimmest he does not have the same build as, say, Merrett or Parish. And that sometimes works to his advantage due to the strength, low center of gravity and acceleration it gives him. However it’s a build that can have it’s down side in terms of the way weight is gained.

He kept doggedly at the running program he has yesterday and at one stage had one of the running coaches act as a pacer. Sometimes he was part of the main group but often he was on his running program. As Langford was, by the way.

I did comment on the training thread that I was shocked by his fitness. But at the same time he is part of a sport that requires ELITE fitness. I was showing my boy the off season running program for Gippsland Power under 18’s. It’s mind blowing! My point being that it would not take much to slip down if you aren’t at your mental peak.

If he is depressed obviously the first thing that going to go is the drive and discipline to get up every morning and put out the required km’s (and km’s and km’s and km’s…).

Walla was the person we missed the most is the Elimination final against Footscray. His talent is undeniable. The challenge is for the club as much as Walla. They should have the patience and expertise to return him to peak condition. Mentally and physically. And the club will gain the rewards of that.

Well he did, and people should have shutthefuckup then, also.

Except when you had a go at him in person when he was laughing after a match that we lost.

@Bacchusfox why did you do that??

I just can’t get over that it was willingfully and boastfully shared with blitz.

Francis was only like 20 at the time. Really poor form.

This episode has been done to absolute death. Surely time to move on.

Don’t be ridiculous.

@Bacchusfox Was just upset we passed on Oliver and picked Francis instead.

I just listened to a 2019 talk Walla and his mum gave. It didn’t talk about Foetal Alcohol Syndrome but did refer to his back problems and diet issues. Due to smaller than normal cavities in his spine and nerve endings in his spine he had excruciating pain over longer runs, even though he did not get particularly tired. Doc Reid was the one to uncover this after he’d seen many doctors over the journey. Anthony also found that the diets staff would put him on did not allow him to keep off the kilos- he had to go back to a more traditional Tiwi diet for his body to respond. Mal Michael helped him realise this when coaching Aberfeldie. I agree he is naturally stocky but it is probably a fair tightrope he walks diet-wise as well.

He has a long time ago apologised, explaining where he thought he went wrong.
It’s not a ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  life-sentence ffs.

It’s 2021 Deckham, didn’t you know apologies don’t mean anything.

The proper way of things is to assume all of those you disagree with to having the worst possible intentions at all times and you will get up to pace.
