It’s both hilarious and telling how little Melbourne are being spoken about.
They came into the year as 3rd/4th favourite.
They should be the story of the year, in terms of actual performance vs expected (Saints, Carlton and North were all more or less expected to suck).
Instead, it’s barely rated a mention, just business as usual.

One thing I have noticed as that Walla is often the one to guard the other team’s first defensive switch kick. Their defender looks to the fat side of the ground to switch play, sees Walla, has a mini heart attack, and kicks long down the skinny side.
Because he is so instantly recognisable by the opposition, they can, and often do, avoid putting the ball near him. Which contributes to him having games where he “goes missing” while still enabling him to impact the game in our favour.

like with anyone in any team, they are but a part of the whole bigger cog.
he has generally gone missing in games when Raz has been out and he has been the only really creative forward left in the forwardline.
Earlier in the season he was the main defensive forward too, but most of that doesn’t get recognised or the stats aren’t as pretty and in your face as much.
Similar to stringer early last year, people potting him cos he wasn’t kicking four goals a game, wasn’t doing the flashy stuff.
he was however working his ■■■■ off, most of the time, he was competing in the air and on the ground, and he was doing his bit.
yes he’s had quite games this year, but imo they’ve coincided with when the team has played poor, and he’s been expected to carry the whole forward 50 burden of defensive pressure and being the only attacking option as a small.

You’d have to think that we lost kids supporting us during the saga as they were bullied at school, but tippa is a one man bombers PR machine.
