Tremendous
Was never out of form - Thought Green and Fantasia had solid games, despite not kicking a goal.

This bloke is the greatest thing to happen to Essendon since Hird. Made 2016 special. Humble. Talented. Heart and soul of our footy club.
And he got an absolutely rubbish bounce - no problem!
Every element of his craft on display, bodywork, reading the kick in, the leap, the gather, the handball in frontā¦ seriously good stuff
Hartlettās chase was barely even half hearted.
I honestly think heās injuredā¦a groin maybe. Which makes it all the more impressive because heās mainly relying on his footy smarts and skills. His speed since the Richmond game just isnāt there. Heās still quite quick but nowhere near the lighting speed weāre used to seeing when heās applying manic pressure. That or he just doesnāt want to chase that hard anymore. Has anybody else noticed it?
I was just thinking how much impact he has had on our clubs DNA, on and off the field.
There is no like-for-like replacement for him, heās unique and he makes EFC unique.
Surely itās hard for anyone to go past getting #43 on their jumper?
Last year he had a glaring weakness in overhead contests, and contested marking was just out of the question.
So, instead of finding a way to work around that weakness, he has (clearly) worked hard to improve his skills overhead and turn it into a strength, to the point now where he nearly pulled in mark of the year last night.
His improvement has been immense.
Imagine how good heād be if he used different studs in his boots!
They need to make him a life player and put him on a ridiculously good contract. No price is too high, he is the fabric and new spirit post saga of this footy club
And how good was the chat he and Dyson had on the bench? . He was hanging off every single word his captain said
But was that him, or the team? His marking was always amazingly good at VFL level - used to peel off and actually impact contests regularly. He uses his body weight really really well, he realises heās a short fat ā ā ā ā and uses it to his advantage - he puts his hips and ā ā ā ā into someone and it almost always upsets their balance. Nobody is used to a 5ā2" porker who wants to play physically and they donāt know how to deal with it.
Loved thatā¦ speaks volumes on both of them.
Itās not only his efforts on field that impress, he clearly has an insatiable appetite for learning and improving. This is self evident in how much his contested marking has improved. Itās quite stunning how he keeps getting better. I think he should be in contention for AA his name would surely be on the mix
I think he has potential to be a brownlow medallist at some point in his career. Heās destined to end up an elite midfielder at some point in his career
If only he had taken that grab!
Yeah would have mark and goal of the week
Can we also post that back in the āwe want Hartlettā Draft thread?[quote=āAzza78, post:4883, topic:2519, full:trueā]

Watching the replay, if he gets anywhere near the ball or the play the crowd noise level shoots up dramatically. The actual level when he kicks a goal is through the roof. No other player brings the level of excitement to this side than he does.
Conor got a bit of that anticipatory noise last night, tooā¦
Yes he did and for good reason too, he was scintillating at times.
